Kingston Arts presents 'Contents', a group exhibition of emerging artists, curated by Michelle James, which considers the enduring ‘reign of the image’ in everyday cultural production, examining its social and aesthetic relationship to contemporary abstraction. The exhibition will span both galleries at Kingston Arts Centre, with works including painting, sculpture, video, textiles and performance.

The Opening Night will feature a durational performance of Between Hysteria And Narcissism, I Am Me, Through Screen I Am (2016) by exhibiting artist Caspar Connolly in collaboration with performance artist Tace Kelly. She will engage with a sculptural object woven from discarded earphones; moving through the audience and responding to the period architecture of Kingston Arts Centre.

Following 'Disparate', a group exhibition of emerging artists curated by Mira Oosterweghel in 2015, Kingston Arts returns with the second iteration in the emerging artist series, combining both recent graduates and current students of MADA and VCA's fine arts programs.

RSVP to this free event through Facebook. Bar service and light refreshments provided - all welcome!
