Kingston Arts presents the Monash Masters Exhibition Prize awarded to Monash Art Design and Architecture alumni, Marnie Edmiston and Kym Maxwell at the completion of their MFA degrees. The artists will present two new solo exhibitions at Kingston Arts Centre in conjunction with Kingston’s annual Makers Market.

Marnie Edmiston presents 'Memoria Technica', which considers the link between memories and their modes of inscription. Taking up the possibility of a shared socio-historical memory—unknowingly imbued in and transmitted by objects and interactions—this exhibition recalls receding cultural forms through sculptural and sonic artworks.

Kym Maxwell presents 'Refraction'. By definition ‘refraction’ is the fact or phenomenon of light being deflected in passing obliquely through the interface between one medium and another. With such characteristics of viewing how is one to judge the distance of an object - a potential risk or danger? Exploring its illusion Maxwell will reflect on current political events through the lens of scientific refraction.

All welcome to attend.
