A Mini Retrospective
Betty Anderson
Betty Anderson's collection of pastels on paper has been 6 years in the making. From the very beginning Betty always wanted to make art and the representation of the grid has been prevalent in all her works. Just as Betty's home is filled with a collection of magazines, tins and cutesy cat mugs stored in bags and drawers, her grids and squares appear to refect a human tendency to collect, keep and contain. There is a sense of control in the works she produces but there is also a strong emphasis on spontaneity and storytelling. This mini-retrospective showcases the work of a prolific artist whose organic and structured practice takes on a life of its own.
