Another Life: Community Project
Another Life is a transformative community project for anyone who wants to explore acting, create characters, and find a safe, welcoming space for self-expression.
About the project
Created and led by Dr Suzie J Jarmain, this project is more than just acting or storytelling. It's a bold invitation to step through a portal into a new, imagined life—a place where your own experiences transform into the story of a fictional character, brought to life on stage. here, the ordinary becomes extraordinary: the rehearsal room becomes a threshold, and the Kingston Arts Centre is your gateway to a world you've only dreamed of.
Across four practical workshops, you'll learn how to transform your own story, and your dreams into a fictional character's life and perform it. The creative process is driven by the question: "If I could live another life, I would be..."
Another Life culminates in a special afternoon performance for family and friends at the Kingston Arts Centre theatre. No acting experience needed, just curiosity, openness, playfulness and a willingness to step into another life.
Kingston Arts is proud to support Another Life through its Performing Arts Development Program.
