The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has carefully crafted mix of comedy superstars, familiar faces and fresh new talent will commute to some favourite local venues around Melbourne. We’ll bring you a side-splitting night of hard-hitting laughter, a little closer to home!

With an outrageously talented MC and a line-up of fantastically funny comedians in each two-hour show, Comedy Commutes will take big laughs well beyond the CBD!

Grab your mates, put that Myki away and leave the car at home - this is your chance to see one of the Comedy Festival’s famed line-up shows without leaving your ‘hood.

MC: Dolly Diamond


Dolly Diamond is a much-loved personality who is originally from the UK and who has proudly called Australia home since 2009. 

Dolly Diamond was the Artistic Director of the 2017 & 2018 Melbourne Cabaret Festival. She has had numerous successful cabaret and comedy seasons around the nation as part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Fringe World Perth, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Ballarat Cabaret Festival, Midsumma Festival, Adelaide’s FEAST Festival and Broken Heel Festival and her personal favourite, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.


Nick Cody


Stand-up Comedian. Radio Host. Actor. Dickhead.

Nick Cody’s style of easy-going comedy has seen him sell out shows whilst racking up rave reviews, not only in Australia, but also the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Soho Theatre in London and Just For Laughs Festival, Montreal.

Nick's popularity rose even further abroad after making his US television debut on Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show

In 2021 Nick has hit the airwaves of Melbourne as part of the Breakfast team on FOX FM

Carl Donnelly (UK)


Thanks to his Australian wife, double Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee Carl Donnelly has remarkably been allowed into the country to represent the rest of the world at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. 

Carl has been nominated and won a host of awards in his 16 years as a stand-up. He has performed at every major comedy festival around the world including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Montreal Just For Laughs, Kilkenny Comedy Festival and the New Zealand Comedy Festival. He has also appeared on various television and radio shows such as 'Mock The Week', Alan Davies As Yet Untitled and more!

Josh Glanc


Josh Glanc is one of Australia’s fastest rising comics. He fuses character and physical comedy in a whirlwind of props, sound effects and costumes. He's won multiple comedy awards and sold out shows throughout Australia and overseas. He's appeared on the ABC, Channel 10, Mr Box (UK) and the BBC (UK). After spending 2020 stuck in the UK, he's finally home and virus free.


Chris Ryan


Chris Ryan is a 46-year-old former journalist, mother of two teenagers and one of the most exciting new voices on the Australian comedy scene, winning Best Newcomer at the

Sydney Comedy Festival in 2019. Her laconic take on everything from romance to passive

aggressive co-workers has earned her spots in Galas at the Sydney (2019) and Canberra Comedy Festivals (2013, 2017, slated for 2020), Floriade Nightfest and TEDx Canberra.

In 2019, Chris performed comedy for the Australian troops in the Middle East and toured from Darwin to Tasmania, through regional New South Wales and Queensland with the

Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour.
