Wallflowering, by award-winning Australian playwright Peta Murray, is a delightfully amusing and poignant play about the nature of marriage, the pursuit of happiness and the perfect foxtrot. Peg and Cliff Small are an ordinary, suburban, middle-aged couple who once were prize-winning ballroom dancers. Wallflowering traces the evolution of their relationship from its halcyon, dancing days – including younger versions of themselves performing world-class dance routines – to their present-day struggles with adapting to a rapidly changing world.
Funny, moving and at times dazzling, Wallflowering is directed by AACTA award-winning Denny Lawrence (Shirley Valentine, My Brilliant Divorce) and brought to you by perennial favourites, Hit Productions.
"Murray's ultimate respect for love and marriage, and the belief that when people stop growing they die, makes Wallflowering a fascinating and rewarding play." The West Australian
