WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT KINGSTON?
I grew up in East Bentleigh then returned to the area in 2002 with 2 small children. I have performed in many Cabarets at the Kingston Arts Centre and adjudicated many Curtain Call competitions.
I love being near the sea, lots of parks and all the nooks and crannies...also the EXCELLENT op shopping........
WHAT IS YOUR CREATIVE PASSION/PRACTICE?
I am a "slash"....Singer/Actor/Musician/Writer/Director and I run a Singing Teaching Studio called The Voice Place.
I have performed in mainly musicals here are just a few: Funny Girl, Once, A Funny Thing Happened, Xanadu, The Sound of Music, The Secret Garden, Le Miserables, Cats all over Australasia and South East Asia. I have also performed in many Cabaret's the latest was called 'Not Quite Right' which was a one woman, self written and self accompanied show, about eccentric folk....some inspiration came from my own family!
I have also had many TV performances, Winners & Losers, Blue Heelers, Ms Fisher’s Murder Mysteries
WHAT LED YOU TO YOUR CRAFT?
I am a total show off and am unashamedly addicted to Performing and the audience response...particularly laughter....I think I was lucky that I always knew what I wanted to do and my timing was right.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
Live theatre definitely, particularly cabaret. I looooooove the intimacy and the immediate audience reaction. I'm addicted to laughter, it’s the best ever.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON DURING COVID-19?
During COVID I have created a character, BIN GODDESS (see photos) that was supposed to be a bit of fun for a few weeks and this week is the 26th week...and as a result a Cabaret is on it's way!!
I also did a couple of Zoom international play readings of new works and I have continued some teaching on Zoom...not ideal but better than nothing!
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO AFTER COVID-19?
I am looking forward to our poor decimated Industry being revived and entertaining the masses....and working NOT ON ZOOM but with some fellow creatives in the flesh!!
