  • Provenance: Acquisitive Prize - Victoria 150th Anniversary Paint Out 1985. Elizabeth Prior began painting in 1952 and studied with artists including Ian Bow and William Frater into the 1960s. She enjoyed considerable success at art competitions troughout Australia, culminating in her winning of the Gold Coast Art Prize in 1971. Her 1963 painting "Mordialloc Bridge" was purchased by the Mordialloc Council from the Mentone-Mordialloc Art Group's annual exhibition. In 1985 she was awarded the City of Mordialloc Acquisitive Prize for her painting "Brighton Beach". She has exhibited widely throughout Australia and is presently represented by Delshan Art Gallery, Armadale where she has presented solo shows in 1996, 1998 and 2000. She is represented in collections of LaTrobe University, Gold Coast City Art Gallery, Artbank and the United Nations in Rome, Italy.
