Join our new program of craft workshops led online by contemporary artist and jeweller, Christina Darras.
In this workshop, you will be guided to create an original artwork by combining the techniques of illustration and embroidery. Explore principles of colour, form and abstraction to create your unique embroided drawing. Using recycled textiles from home, your drawing will be inspired by the existing marks and textures of the fabric, and completed with the help of your own imagination.

Christina Darras is an interdisciplinary artist and a jewellery designer. She studied painting at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux arts in Paris, France, and printmaking at Central St Martins College of Art and Design in London UK. She works with various mediums, drawing, painting, installations, and embroidery. She enjoys making with her hands, considering her making as a thinking process. She is addicted to colour (she fell in a colour fountain as a toddler and swallowed lots of rainbow water, so colour is in her DNA). With her jewellery she has collaborated with Paul Smith, Harvey Nichols in London, Collette in Paris and Barney’s New York. She has a studio at KA, and she is currently doing a Mca at Victorian college of arts.
