This year's secret theme is... 'Future'

Artz Blitz is an annual community visual arts and creative writing competition, where artists and writers of all ages and abilities have 24-hours to create a piece of work based on a secret theme for exhibition at Kingston Arts. This year, we're doing things a little differently to ensure the safety of our community during COVID-19 and to improve your overall experience of Artz Blitz. 

• To acknowledge the hardships experienced by our arts community over the past year, we have reduced the registration fees to $15 for adults and $10 for all under 18's. Please note, the Adult (18+), Youth (13-17) and Junior (Under 13) competition categories still apply.
• The 2021 Award Presentation and Opening Event will be held one week later on Saturday 27 March, 4 - 6pm to allow us to launch both the physical exhibition and the online gallery of visual artworks and creative writing entries. 
• We have partnered with The Suburban Review, a quarterly digital journal of short fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and art, as our major literary sponsor. TSR will provide adult creative writing winners with an annual subscription, rare legacy print issue, and a publication opportunity in forthcoming issue #23 of The Suburban Review.
• We are introducing a new prize, the Reader's Choice Award, which will allow visitors to vote for their favourite piece of creative writing, in addition to their favourite visual arts piece in the Viewer's Choice Award.
