Artist Sofie Dieu in partnership with Kingston Arts, the City of Kingston and the Victorian Immigrant and Refugee Women Coalition invite you to the online launch of Longing for Home, Stories of First Generation Australian Women: Book, Short Film and Q&A Event.

The project is a collaboration between the artist and migrant women living in the suburbs of Melbourne. Together, they tease what 'home' means when living away from one's country of birth and family and have narrated their stories in embroidery to form a collective textile artwork. Their personal narratives are also revealed in a book and short film, which will be launched on Zoom on Friday the 20th November at 10am, followed by a live Q&A with the artist.

RSVP by Thursday 19th November to attend the online event by visiting Sofie Dieu's website.

Sofie Dieu will also be guest curating a week-long social media takeover of Kingston Arts' Instagram and Facebook accounts between Saturday 28th November and Friday 4th November, sharing insights into the project and behind-the-scenes images in the lead up to the exhibition in 2021. Follow us at @Kingstonartsau on Instagram and Facebook for the full program.
