About Syn Radio
Student Youth Network (SYN 90.7fm) is Melbourne’s oldest and largest youth-led community radio station. We believe young people should be creators, not just consumers of media.
Since its first broadcast in 2003, SYN has been a training ground for the likes of Hamish Blake, Andy Lee, Zan Rowe, Bridget Hustwaite and Anika Luna, who are among the thousands of influential creatives and versatile media professionals who claim to have made their start at SYN. Now based in RMIT’s City campus, we continue to live in the heart of Melbourne’s thriving youth culture, with 300+ volunteers, aged 12-25, driving SYN’s alternative sound.
