Shapes! Is a new series of gigs and workshops for teens (13 to 17 year-olds).

Studio Time

Step into the Westall Library recording studio and unlock the magic of capturing your unique sound.

Join us for an immersive, hands-on workshop where you'll learn the essentials of composing and recording your own songs. From crafting melodies and writing lyrics, to setting up microphones and laying down tracks, we'll guide you through each step of the process to help you bring your music to life.

About The Facilitator

Jack is a singer, songwriter and manager of Victorian band The Pretty Littles who recently released their 7th album Force. Alongside that he started Guts Touring, a regional and remote live music and workshop tour throughout Australia. More recently he established Bush Music Fund, a charity designed to support First Nations musicians from remote parts of the country to overcome the barriers they face to the music industry.

About Shapes!

Kingston Arts are embarking on an exciting initiative to empower young people in our community to cultivate the next groundbreaking band. Shapes! is tailored to 13 to 17 year-olds who want to experience live music in a local and safe environment. There will be live gigs throughout the year and music workshops.

Other music industry workshops

But that's just the beginning! Later in the year, we're diving deep into the music world with:

  • Group Guitar Lessons: Hone your skills under the expert guidance of seasoned professionals at Rock Academy.
  • Music Industry 101: Decipher the intricacies of the music industry, from securing gigs to releasing chart-topping records with soul singer Maddy from Velvet Bloom.

This event is presented in collaboration with Kingston Arts and Kingston Libraries.
