Dry Needle Felting: Koalas

Next date: Monday, 16 February 2026 | 06:30 PM to 08:00 PM

Three grey felted koalas

Needle felting is the simple process of turning loose wool into a solid felt using a barbed needle. It’s an easy craft that doesn’t require extensive equipment and you can make toys, ornaments and decorations. It’s a very fun and tactile hobby.

In this beginner-friendly class, we’ll be learning to dry felt a cute koala! You’ll be able to create your own expressions to personalise your koala, while learning the two basic structures that 3D needle felting relies upon – circles and logs.

All materials are provided to get started, including needles and felting block to take home!

This workshop will cover:

  • the basics of needle felting
  • different tools, materials, and their purposes
  • the two basic forms for 3D object felting
  • ideas and examples for future projects
  • where to source materials/resources.
