This is an 8-week intermediate/advanced workshop series that takes you from fundamentals to mastery, where you will paint across all genres while building core principles with each exercise—such as landscapes, portraits, flowers, still life, and more.
Each class includes a discussion, demonstration, drawing and a project to be completed. There is immediate feedback and one on one assistance.
Who will be teaching?
Pilar de la Torre is an award winning contemporary realist artist living and working in Melbourne, Victoria. Having studied drawing and painting at Repin Academy Saint Petersburg Russia, Studio Escalier in France and Julian Ashton Art School Sydney and studied watercolours with Ian Chapman at Julian Ashton Art School.
Her passion is drawing and painting from life, mainly in oil and watercolour across all genres, portrait, figure, interiors, still life and landscape.
Pilar has been a finalist in numerous awards including Lethbridge 20000, Bluethumb Prize, SBS Portrait Prize, Kennedy Art Prize, AME Bale Travelling Scholarship, including the drawing and painting Prize. She was also the Australian selected representative to the Russian Academy of Art, Saint Petersburg 2019. Pilar de la Torre's entry into the 2005 Archibald prize was selected into the Salon des Refusés exhibition in Sydney, Australia.
