Comedy at the Shirley: October

Comedian Nat Harris in front of a pink background leaning down wearing a yellow t-shirt and blue pants.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of gut-busting humour, featuring a treasure trove of comedic talent that'll have you laughing 'til your cheeks ache.

Expect big-name comics and rising stars from Australia and around the world – here to light up the Shirley Burke Theatre. You'll recognise these talents from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala, and from shows such as:

  • Have You Been Paying Attention?
  • Thank God You're Here
  • Spicks and Specks.

Lovingly curated by veteran comedy programmer Janet A McLeod (aka the fairy godmother of Melbourne comedy), Comedy at the Shirley is guaranteed to leave you in hysterics.

Comedians

Ethan Cavanagh

Ethan Cavanagh caught the stand-up comedy bug at the ripe old age of 15 and has been learning to live with the symptoms ever since.

Originally hailing from western Victoria, this country-bumpkin-turned-big-smoke performer is one of Melbourne’s fastest-rising and most extravagantly over-dressed comedians.

A jet-setter who has just arrived back from touring the UK and the US, this is one snappy dresser with even snappier jokes.

Nat Harris

Recognisable to 3RRR listeners from her three-year stint as one of the Breakfasters team. Her sharp, character-driven comedy has earned her numerous awards, sold out shows, national tours and legions of fans.

"Deadpan, perfectly-paced delivery and dry, ballsy demeanour that is a joy.” Chortle UK.

Jeremy Dooley

Affable and relatable with punchlines landing more often than a champion MMA fighter (fun fact, prior to comedy Jeremy was a multi-level champion across various martial arts ranging in everything from full contact Karate to MMA).

“In the world of comedy, a few names stand out, and one that’s making waves is Jeremy Dooley” Forte Magazine.
