Drawing from his Yagarabul, Narangawal, Gitabal, Maluligal, Kemer Kemer Meriam, and South Sea Islander heritage, John Wayne crafts performances that are both culturally rich and emotionally resonant.
An ethnomusicologist and celebrated vocalist, he blends the soulful depth of gospel with the grooves of blues and jazz, creating a powerful sonic landscape that honours Country, culture, and community. His artistry invites audiences into a space where tradition and modern expression meet—celebrating resilience, identity, and the shared human experience.
