Next date: Friday, 27 March 2026 | 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM

Join us for a gentle, sensory workshop where colour becomes a language of emotion, imagination and connection. Through felt and play, participants explore the quiet stories that live inside us, discovering how making with our hands can bring feelings into visible form.

Designed by an artist who works regularly with people with disabilities, this session has been created to be as accessible and inclusive as possible.

Participants will create simple felt emotion faces, choose the one that feels most like today, and make a small tactile collage as a home for that feeling. Held in a calm, all-abilities space, participants take home an emotion board and their felt 'emotion friends'. No art experience is required.

Who will be teaching?

Moon Girle (Caity Girle) is a Naarm/Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist and production designer who creates tactile, inclusive experiences through colour, texture and play. Guided by ancestral craft traditions, she approaches making as an act of care and connection.

Caity has extensive experience working in disability and community arts, including facilitating creative programs and designing accessible, participant-led workshops for people with intellectual disabilities. Her trauma-aware, neurodivergent-affirming approach prioritises dignity, safety and individual communication styles.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from RMIT University and has exhibited across Australia and internationally, including as an artist on the touring project Children’s Sensorium at Townsville City Galleries.

This workshop is accessible for all abilities.

We believe in the social model of disability—that is, disability is the result of the interaction between people living with impairments and an environment filled with physical, attitudinal, communication and social barriers. (Sourced from PWD)
