'Every Image Holds Another Image' by Melanie Jayne Sancho Taylor
Next date: Friday, 06 November 2026 | 05:00 PM
to Saturday, 09 January 2027 | 05:00 AM
A new video work created from the artist’s personal photographic archive spanning 20 years, projected onto Kingston City Hall's Skybridge.
Developed through the process of organising the archive, the work takes the form of a photographic montage in which one image evokes the memory of another.
As photographs surface during this process, they are brought together through visual and emotional associations rather than chronology, forming a sequence of ambiguous places, moments and fragments whose context remains unknown to the viewer.
Seen together, the images trace the associative logic of memory that emerges through the act of organising the archive.
